Cam is a Rockford native who
learned how to play the pipes in the band school of pipes and drums,
entering the band as a full member in 2000. He has been teaching new
pipers in the band school since 2002.
As a soloist, Cam has had
great success at Midwest Pipe Band Association contests. In 2003 Cam
won the “Most Promising Piper” award from the Illinois St. Andrew’s
Society, and was named “Youth Piper of the Day” at the Midwest
Championships in Chicago. He became Pipe Sergeant of the band in
2004. Cam currently competes as a soloist in Grade 2, and marches in
the band’s Grade 3 competition unit.
Cam is a full time student
at the University of Illinois in Champaign, majoring in Architecture
and playing trumpet for the Marching Illini. He is available for
solo performances in the Rockford area during semester break and
during summer vacation.
